We are excited to share the inspiring journey of Prameela Life Sciences Private Limited, a startup born from the ambition and dedication of Ms. Samatha Paladugu and Mr. Sarepalli Sai Sathwik, both PhD students from Chaitanya Deemed to Be University. From Capacity Building to Startup Success
In 2019, Samatha and Sathwik attended the SfAM International Capacity Building (ICB) course. This pivotal experience laid the foundation for their entrepreneurial journey. Inspired and equipped with new knowledge, they launched Prameela Life Sciences, focusing on sustainable biotechnology solutions for the skincare industry.
Seed Fund Support from BIRAC
In recognition of their potential and vision, Prameela Life Sciences secured startup seed fund support from the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), a spinout of the Indian Government's Department of Biotechnology. This support was facilitated by the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) at IIT Bombay, providing a crucial boost to their growth and innovation efforts.
Highlighting Our Accomplishments
Prameela Life Sciences recently had the honor of being featured in the Microbiologist by Applied Microbiology International (AMI). The feature highlighted our case study and the outcome of the India-UK Workshop on Women Entrepreneurship, held on 20-21 February 2023. Mentored by the renowned fermentation scientist Dr. Sreenivas Rao Ravella, this workshop brought together 60 graduate and postgraduate students in microbiology and biotechnology. During the workshop, we distributed our probiotic natural cosmetic formulation "Akshata" and received positive feedback based on the texture, fragrance, spreadability, and moisturising capacity of our products.
